So, things have changed. I’m in Louisville! I guess I should re-tool some information? Maybe later… for now a blog entry! I must start doing this more often! I’ve been work for a bank, mainly my job is a help-desk position; however, have made a position for myself as a web administrator. (not officially yet) but there are projects in the works already. My goal for the blog is a place to put code and other information I learn on my travels. Things to remember and share for others to learn. (not saying I’m excellent or anything). I will be taking a JavaScript course later next year and hopefully will learn a-lot from that but also want to look at PHP when I have a moment.
As for Providential Web & Media… I’m still available! open for new projects and things to do!
I’m pleased to welcome Wm Haskins Woodworks to Providential Web & Media. William T. Haskins is a friend of mine who does ornate woodworking as well as general contracting. If you are in any need give him a call. Definitely give the site a look as well.
Welcome to Providential Web & Media! Today is a big day for me, I’m officially “launching” my company! I’m ready are you? If you need a website, or have one and need it updated, give me a call. Connect with me on Facebook and Twitter as well!
So here it comes… 2010! Everyone else is setting resolutions. I’m setting Goals for the year. Goals are much more attainable for me to reach. They are also much more practical in my mind… so here they are:
1. Launch Providential Web & Media
2. Finish Jr. College
3. Read more Bible than Internet (stolen from Pete Peterson)
4. Move to Lousivlle Ky
5. Learn PhP
6. Develop for either drupal or Joomla
What about you? What are you looking forward to this new year??
So as of late, I’ve heard the phrase, “I’m getting into the Christmas spirit” quite a bit. I understand what they mean; however, What is the true spirit of Christmas? A week ago, I was blessed to see Andrew Peterson play his Christmas concert. Behold the Lamb of God, the True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ. This concert has been a tradition for Sarah and I for the past four years. The music always has the same effect, it focuses me on Christ. The true focal point not only of Christmas, but also our lives. The last two years Andrew has read the first part of Sally Lloyd Jones’ book “The Jesus Storybook Bible”
“(The bible is) like an adventure story about a young Hero who came from a far country to win back his lost treasure. It’s a love story about a brave Prince who leaves his palace, his throne, everything to rescue the one he loves. It’s like the most wonderful of fairy tales that have come true in real life.
You see, the best thing about this story is—it’s true.
It takes the whole Bible to tell this story. And at the center of the Story there is a baby. Every story in the Bible whispers his name. He is like the missing piece in a puzzle—the piece that makes all the other pieces fit together and suddenly you can see a beautiful picture.
And this is no ordinary baby. This is the Child upon whom everything would depend.
Is the peace on Earth and Good will toward man we desire what is actually spoken about in the bible? Or is it something different?
I believe that Christ is our peace, and The good will toward men is from God… Christ has come! How Great is our God! Merry Christmas.
New features in wordpress allows users to post and read wordpress blogs through the Twitter API (or software for you non geeks). Rss feeds have allowed us to read blogs more efficentky; however, there is a disconnect between rss readers and blog writers. The ability to read blogs using rss aggragators drives traffic away from the blogs themselves. This includes reader response. Will this new way to communicate be more helpful or will it be lost in the noise?
This is an amazing video showing the power of social networking! What else can we do to promote ourselves and our companies using facebook and twitter? Remember its free!!
